Arthur Charles Gallien

January 31, 1938 – May 19, 2016

Arthur Charles Gallien, 78, of San Jose passed away May 19, 2016. He was born January 31, 1938 in Plattsburg, New York to Wilfred and Helen (Butkiewicz) Gallien. His family moved to Rome, New York when he was very young.

When Arthur was 6 years old his father passed away. He was raised by his step-father, James Boshell.

A graduate of Rome Free Academy High Scholl and the University of Alabama, Arthur met and married Joan Lowell and they moved to San Jose, California in 1960.

Arthur retired from Rosendin Electric after 22 years.

He was known to be quick witted, very generous with his time and talents, an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. An active member of St. Christopher Catholic Parish, he has served as past President of the St. Christopher Holy Name Society.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan, daughter; Alison (Sal ) Perea , son; Brian, grandchildren; Tyler, Justin, Nolan and Casey and a brother Curtis.

A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. Christopher Catholic Church 1576 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123
