

Balvino Gutierrez Vargas, 85, passed away in his home on Thursday morning February 5, 2026.
He was the eldest son of Mercedes and Lorenzo Vargas, brother to seven sisters and seven brothers.
Balvino was born on September 17, 1940 in the Municipal of Yahualica, Jalisco Mexico where he grew up assisting his parents in the fields.
In 1965 his destiny took him to Mexicali Baja California, Mexico where he worked in the fields picking cotton and as a tractor machinist preparing the soil for planting.
Balvino immigrated to United States residing in San Jose California where he worked in the El Monte Cannery. He also worked as a Welder after retiring 35 years of employment.
Balvino is survived by his loving children: Elsa Vargas, Raul Vargas, Esperanza Rico, and Ricardo Vargas. Additionally, he is survived by his grandchildren: Jasmine Rico, Felix Ramirez Jr, Jeremy Vargas, Erica Rico, Joshua Vargas, Jonathan Vargas, and Manuel Rico Jr. As well as his great grandchildren: Luke Vargas, Elias Vargas, Alonzo Vargas, and Josiah Vargas.
Balvino loved to walk, he would go walking from his residence to downtown many times. He enjoyed the relaxation of riding his bicycle on the Los Gatos creek trail from his home to Los Gatos and back. He loved to watch baseball especially the little league games and his favorite baseball team the Oakland A's.
Balvino loved to watch novellas and his favorite movies from his favorite actor Cantiflas .
At times you would see him sitting in his favorite recliner at home listening to his favorite songs from Javier Solis.
Balvino will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He will be remembered as a resilient man with a strong dedication to his work ethic and a man of profound catholic faith. A man with Integrity and devotion to God.
