Barbara Ann Velasquez

Barbara Ann Velasquez 8/5/1953 9/9/2024

Barbara passed away peacefully after a 5 year battle with cancer on September 9th, 2024.

Those who knew Barbara knew what a sweet, loving, and caring person she was. She constantly went out of her way to make sure those she cared about were happy and well taken care of. Barbara was born in San Jose Ca. to Robert and Lydia Laybourn on August 5th, 1953.She got married in 1974 to Walt Velasquez, and they have been married for 50 years. Barbara enjoyed baking, dancing and taking care of her plants. She enjoyed her Friday club family and did many events and vacations with them. Barbara and her husband Walt Ran a baseball league through the San Jose Pal Jr Giants for Special needs adults and kids for 31 years. It was her pride and joy and still is. In 2013 they were both inducted into the Junior Giants Hall of Fame.

She is survived by her Husband Walt, Mother Lydia, Siblings Laura and Rob, sons John and Scott, Grandchildren Kristie, Sean, and Aaron, and Great

Grandchildren Jed, Theo, and Chloe.
