Benedicta R. Hernandez passed away on February 8, 2024 in San Jose, California at age of 92. Born on March 15, 1931 in Vinton, Texas to Julian & Serafina Ruiz. She is preceded in death in 1974 by her late husband Gilbert Hernandez, her daughter Lupe Estrada, and step-daughter Nellie Moreno. Loving Mother to Gilbert Hernandez , Marina Hernandez and Elisa Machuca. Loving step-mother to Frances Orozco. Beloved Grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She loved her family, dancing, cooking while she spent her life raising all of her children and was a Mother figure to so many more in her family. She was funny, caring and selfless. She was the heart of the family and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing for Benedicta will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, CA 95125 with a rosary service on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, CA 95125 and then again final visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, CA 95125, followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 325 Willow Street, San Jose, California 95125 and finally, Graveside Service to follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, California. 95125
