Billy G. Woolman Resident of Saratoga, California

Beloved husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. Billy passed away on November 13th, 2012. He was born in Republican City, Nebraska on February 16th, 1924 and has lived in Saratoga, California since 1952.

Billy's childhood was spent on the family farm in Nebraska and he entered the military as a Marine at the age of eighteen. He saw active duty in both World War II and Korea where he was severely injured. He then went on to become a cabinet maker and in his later years worked at Eastside High School.

Billy's passion in his earlier years was high school football and boxing. Later he became interested in history, genealogy, and gardening which gave him many hours of pleasure. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and he was never happier than when he spent time watching his great grandkids playing and having fun.

Billy is survived by Cleota, his wife of 64 years, his daughter Diane, his son Richard, his grandsons, Jason, Ricky, and Matt, and his granddaughter Pamella and 5 great grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held on Friday November 23rd at 11.00 am at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose. His family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice.

Dear Cleota, Diane, Richard and the Woolman family, My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I have known Billy for over 30 years as a neighbor and friend. Billy was like a second father to me and I would always visit when I came in from out of town. I can still remember how proud he was of his garden and flowers. He will be missed but I am sure he will be planting flowers for us wherever he is. Love to you all,

To Billy's family...We knew Bill all our lives here on Dundee. We will miss seeing him in the garden and waving hello as we passed by. He was always upbeat and happy to see us. We loved reminiscing with him about Shanghai days. He was truly an American hero. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
