He was born on March 19, 1948 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a tradesman, he worked as a sheet metal fabricator for many years at a manufacturing company in San Jose, California.
He is survived by his sister, Sylvia McKelvey and husband Kim of Gilroy, California, niece, Amy Rodriguez and husband Norm, their children Allyson and Elijah, niece Ginny Estupinian and husband Robert, their children Kayla, Brandon and Tyler all of San Jose, California.
Brian was a Vietnam veteran, having served as a Hospital Corpsman at the Naval Support Hospital in Da Nang during the 1968 TET offensive. As a second class Petty Officer, Brian was proud to serve his country and proud of the time he spent in the United States Navy Medical Corps.
He was strong in his Christian faith and was loving and thoughtful in his relationships with his family and friends. He never hesitated to extend a hand to anyone in need. He made friends easily and was well respected among his peers. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Roses in the Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, California.
