

Carina Bontilao Kubow, a billing auditor at JIT Transportation, has died tragically with her mother Angela in an automobile accident on Thursday night, April 13, 2017. Popularly known as Carrie or Auntie Car to her nephews and nieces, she was the 6th child of 9 from the union of Julian del Mar Bontilao and Angela Vilbar Bontilao. Carrie was born on November 7, 1955, in Pasay City, Philippines. She attended Malate Catholic School, Talamban Elementary School, Las Pinas Municipal High School, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce at the Philippine College of Commerce. In her spare time she helped form and nurture the Family Rosary Crusade Choir in Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Pasay City. She worked at a construction company and Philippine Board of Investment before migrating to San Jose, California in 1985.
In San Jose, she joined the staff of Rehab Mental Health Service as a billing administrator which later became Momentum for Mental Health. Her can do spirit and jovial attitude earned her the respect and admiration of her friends and staff. In 1989, she met the love of her life, Jim Kubow. They became the best of friends and got married on October 10, 1993. Their union brought forth two sons Shane (23), and Justin (21). A little lady with a big heart and endless laughter, Carrie made things happen and has been a source of guidance and good advice to everyone she knew, young and old. She will be greatly missed.
Carrie was preceded in death by her father, Julian; older brother Arturo, sister-in-law Edelwina, nephew Julius and niece Eva. She is survived by her husband Jim; her sons Shane and Justin; hers stepson Jimmy (Sahar) and stepdaughter Candace; her brothers Prudencio (Cita), Restituto (Wanda), Roberto (Araceli), Felicisimo (Myrna), and Nereo Antonio (Marites); her sisters Julieta (Nicasio) and Josefina (Joselito); nephews and nieces Armando, Maribel, Artprubertito, Alberto, Raveena, Arturo Jr., Dennis, Deanna, Angelica, Jeanique, Orielle, Yerahmiel, Jeff, April, Jillian, Aaron, and Megan.
