Carmen was an adventurous, joyful, and caring woman who found her calling in the field of education. A natural born leader, she earned “Teacher of the Year” within her first five years in the profession. After completing her Master’s Degree in Education, Carmen immersed herself in the role of principal; dedicated and passionate about helping not only her staff and students, but her community as well. Although Carmen never had children of her own, she took on that role and lovingly touched the lives of so many children she encountered throughout her life and career. During her free time Carmen loved to travel with her husband Ron. Every summer they would venture to a new destination—Hawaii being their happy place, and upon their return Carmen loved to document their memories and adventures in beautiful scrapbooks. Carmen was also passionate about cooking and baking, and loved to share her tasty creations with family and friends.
Carmen is survived by her devoted husband of 25 years Ron Loy, her loving parents: Angie Sabatino Margo and Jack Margo (Denise), sister Gina Margo, brothers Jack Margo and Joe Margo, as well as her sister-in-law Monica. Preceded in death by her sister Lulu Grady (Kevin). Carmen was a devoted Godmother to Jason Grady (Morgan), and a loving aunt to Steven Nicholas, Joey, Jaake, Regina, Bailey, and Gian-Carlo.
Also survived by her beloved aunties: Lucy Marks, Sandy Maxwell, and Josie Margo Hartz. Preceded in death by her aunt Pat Iacometti.
Lovingly remembered by Michelle Peterson (Rob), their children: Lacee, Waylon, and Easton, as well as countless cousins, friends, and colleagues.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 4 at 9:00 am at the Chapel of Roses at Oak Hill Memorial in San Jose. Due to Covid-19 restrictions seating will be limited; however, all are welcome to pay their respects at this time.
