We lost a truly friendly man in Cartez Kirby. I had the pleasure of officiating basketball and football games with him, and I always will remember his smile and laugh. Thanks for your service to the youth sports community, Kirby. 

I had the pleasure of meeting Kirby or Kirbster as I called him while playing rec basketball in San Jose in 1985.  He was one of the best officials with a big heart and great communication skills.  Later I had the pleasure to work with the Kirbster as a flag football and basketball official for the City of San Jose.  We had a lot of fun while working together.  I know that he is in heaven now still blowing his whistle keeping things in control.  It was a true blessing getting to know the Kirbster.  He will truly be missed on and off the sports field.

My partner  for over 25 years  in slow pitch softball in Santa Clara
Req league  will be missed .
We had great times during and after the games.
We bonded like brothers. 
I will miss his smiles and laugh.



Cartez was one of kind person . When I was playing baseball after one game he call me over talk about my pitching. I will always remember his smile and great laugh !!
