In 1963 Charles came out west to El Cerrito, California to live with his sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Joan Wilson. After graduation from El Cerrito High School, he worked for the U.S. National Forest Service in Plumas National Forest, spending his summers fighting wildfires in the Feather River Canyon to finance his college education.
Charles met his wife, Peggy, in Chemistry class at San Jose State University. They married in June 1972.
Charles graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri in January 1976 with a B.S. in Biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. He returned to California and practiced Chiropractic in San Jose and Santa Clara for 36 years. In addition to his practice, Charles was a Clinical Instructor for Life West and Palmer West Chiropractic colleges and a Qualified Medical Examiner. He wrote numerous articles and conducted continuing education seminars for various Chiropractic organizations. His greatest passion in life was training and mentoring students.
He loved fishing, Dungeons & Dragons and writing stories for his granddaughter.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Rollis and sisters Theresa Morgan and Audrey Sukovich.
Charles leaves behind his wife Peggy, sons Kevin and Stephen Rollis, granddaughter Ariana Rollis, siblings Tony (Dolores) Rollis of San Jose, Joan (Bob) Wilson of Sunnyvale, Paul (Marge) Rollis of Silverton, New Jersey and Thomas Rollis of Paris, Tennessee, as well as many other family and friends.
Due to Covid considerations, funeral services will be limited to immediate family.
