i miss my grandpa and he was a good person and i loved him   and i wish he was still here right now hugging me

I am sooooo sad to hear that Chuck has passed. I enjoyed every time that he & Eileen came by my store ((Hallmark)). He used to tell me to hide the Mickey Mouse stuff from Eileen. He would also tease us about already having Christmas stuff out but not Easter yet. I am going to miss him very, very much. Eileen, I know your heart is sad & hurting right now but he is at peace & I know that he is loving you just as much in Heaven. GOD BLESS YOU DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. I love you both.

Chuck was one of our favorite people. Branson will never be the same without him! He kept us happy even when Merle was feeling bad.  Please know that I will be lifting you up in prayer in the days ahead.  With Love,

That he died is not important, everything dies... What is important is that he lived and how he lived...  I've known uncle chuck for 50 years.  He was a wonderful husband to my aunt, a  father to my cousins,  a grandfather , a great grandfather and an   uncle to me and my wife (and of course to my sons). He was the first new yorker I had met and that in itself was a  great experience. In the later years we would see Chuck and Eileen mostly at Banjo Affairs.. Always enjoyed visiting and seeing them..  The hole in my heart is filled with good memories. I feel fortunate that he was part of my life.

My father was a good man and I am very very proud of every aspect of having him as a dad. While he left us too early he also left before his illness had a chance to cause him the pain that it was leading too. If he wasn't my father he is still the type of man I would have hung out with and talked to because of his intelligence, his humor, and his love of life. If there is was a silver lining to my wife passing away a couple months ago it is that she didn't have to see my fathers pass because she loved him with all her heart. If there is a heaven at least now she is able to see him again.

I knew Chuck as kids in Ridgewood and as you adults working in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. But we lost communication until my very good friend Eileen reunited with him. Over the last ten years or so Chuck and Eileen have been to my house many times and we saw each other at birthday parties. Chuck and I sent lots of E-Mail to each other and shared the same sense of humor. I will miss Chuck. BobE (Evans)
