

Claire Avila Delaney was born in Garden City, Kansas on May 9, 1940. The family relocated to Los Angeles, California in 1953. From there, they moved to Clovis, Mountain View, and Santa Clara. In 1967, she moved her family to San Jose, Santa Clara Co., where she remained living for the rest of her life. Along with her siblings, she worked from a very young age, which taught her values and appreciation. She was the first female supervisor when she started working at Intel Corporation (formerly Fairchild Semiconductor) and maintained her occupation and flourished in her career until she retired in her mid-70s.
Over her lifetime, she enjoyed hosting parties, traveling, dancing, sewing, attending church, prayer groups, and living life to the fullest.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard and Henry Alcaraz, Richard Avila, son, Anthony “Tony” Enriquez III, granddaughter, Jessica Afanador, grandson, Johnny Arce Jr., great-grandson, Ambrose “AJ” Brisco. She leaves behind her sisters, Clara, Dolores, Sandy, Mary, Aurora, Minerva, and Irene, her brothers, Albert, Ronald, Lino, and Alex. Her children, Cheryl Serrano (son-in-law, Glenn Serrano), Marilyn and Mark Marker, Danielle Manrique (son-in-law, Jeffrey Manrique), and Joanna Delaney. Her grandchildren, Corrina Brisco (Ambrose), Gina Valenzuela (Vince), Serena Afanador, Melisa, Nicholas, Ashley, Maddie, and Kiana Marker, Sabrina and Angel Arce (Brittney), Ariella Calderon, Julia, Vivian and Nikolas Serrano, Andy and Joey Hernandez. Her great-grandchildren, Frankie, Angelina, Leylah, Ina, Kai (Marker), James, Elijah, Cameron, Jadis, and Indya Arce, Dominic Afanador. Her great-great grandchildren, Liliana and Saint. Numerous friends from years past, and new ones in recent years, and her beloved prayer groups.
Her amazing smile and her unique laughter will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
May she rest in God’s grace, in his heavenly kingdom, and in peace!
