

Corazon Romero Oravillo was born in Agoo, La Union, Philippine Islands. She was married to Ruperto Viduya Oravillo in 1945 in Quezon City. In the Philippines, she was separated from her husband for 5 years until 1950 when she and her daughter, Consuelo joined Ruperto in San Francisco in 1950. After 6 years, they moved to East Palo Alto where they bought their first starter home, a 3 bedroom 1 bath house to raise their 6 children. They lived in East Palo Alto for 36 years. They moved to San Jose for a short time before buying their dream house in Roseville to be closer to their sons. In Roseville, her sons, Frank, Fred and Edward all lived within 1 mile of Corazon.
In Roseville, “Ma” as she was affectionately called enjoyed gardening and tending to her over 100 rose bushes and trees. Another hobby, Ma enjoyed was crocheting. Her Roseville home is decorated with her crocheted window dressings, tablecloths, and doilies handmade by her.
On Easter Sunday 2026, Corazon 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Corazon Romero Oravillo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ruperto Viduya Oravillo in 2007 and by her daughter, Consuelo Romero Blair in 1997.
Corazon is survived by her sons, Rolando, Cezar, Edward, Frank and Fred; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great- great-grandchildren.
Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children and the many generations that follow.
Her family will remember her for her enduring strength, devotion and the countless ways she nurtured and supported them.
