It’s been many years since Dale has been gone. I think of him often and it saddens me that his life was cut so short. When I moved to California and I joined Sigma Nu fraternity at 19 he was one of the first people I met and he became one of my early first best friends in California. Like many people after college you lose touch. We stayed connected, but not enough. There would always be time in the future… Right? Well, let’s always rethink that. Dale I love you. Toni and the girls you’re very lucky to have an amazing father. I remember going on a Family rafting trip with him and his siblings and his dad. What a great family. Dave’s spirit was strong and the family unit seemed unbreakable. I was very envious.

Dale and I love music and partying and laughing and girls. We shared the love of Jenny Meyers who was a sweet angel. Wherever you are Jenny, I would love to reconnect with you

I first met Dale when he was in a hole next to my parents new house. He and his friend Kevin were throwing dirt clods like they were hand grenades, ha.

Over the next 10+ I grew up with Dale and his brother and his family, and all the nice people in the whole Court in front of my house in wonderful Danville CA in the 70's and 80's.

We ended up driving each other back and forth to HS in either my Corvair or his Pinto. We swam, dived, snow skied, worked, went to Day on the Green concerts, studied, played basketball, tennis, chess… so many memories that I have with Dale, and all of them positive.

Yet, it is funny, Dale liked so many people, and so many people liked him. He was everyone's best friend.

One of my last times I spent with Dale was reflective, he was home from break from SJ State, and I was home from college as well. We lay out on a beautiful clear, star filled night on his family's lawn, looking at the stars and just talking… of the future.

I just heard that Dale had past.  I am so sorry for your loss.  What a sweet wonderful man.  I always looked forward to seeing him when he would come to the office with that big smile.

Several years ago Dale and his crew installed a hardscape designed by Fran Adams who recommended him to us.  She was right, we were a good fit.  Fran emailed me this shocking news and I wanted to tell you what a joy it was to work with Dale.  We had waited many years to replace our old cement so looked forward to the whole process.  Dale was competent, experienced, fun and friendly.  Today I cleaned the stone in preparation for a party tomorrow.  I thought of Dale and the legacy he left with those of us who worked with him.  He talked about the beautiful work he had done on your home and loved hanging out with his friends and family.  It was so clear that he loved his wife, kids and extended family.  You can just tell where people put their heart and soul.  I am so sorry for your loss, it was certainly not timely.  Dale will be remembered by many of us who see his work everyday.

Woke up today hoping it was just a bad dream. Been finding some solace and a little more meaning in some of those Grateful Dead songs Dale enjoyed. Still a little stunned.

I can't begin to imagine how painful it is to have a loved one whisked away so suddenly. Words can never express the incredible loss we all feel. Toni, please know your family is in our hearts and prayers. Dale and I were born hours apart and I've always felt a certain kinship with him. We've lost one of the truly Good Guys.
