Dave was part of my life as long as I can remember, my brother’s best friend.  A quiet kind soul who always made us “little sisters” feel safe and protected. 
I feel so blessed that we had the chance to see each other at a random high school picnic last summer. I cried from happiness!  
Dave you will be deeply missed, there’s a hole in the Herbert-Young family with your passing.

I apologize for taking so long to write a message to David’s family. It’s taken time to be able to be able to slow the tears and find the right words. 

David’s family, 
I am  deeply sorry for your loss, and the grief that comes from such a loss. I pray for finding comfort and laughter in your memories and the love that I know he felt for his family. He is a gift that will be greatly missed. 

I find that writing about David’s passing is extremely difficult. He’s been a brother to the Herbert/Young family since we were little kids. There are so many vidid memories of his brilliance, creativity, and quick, subtle dry wit. David and  my brother, Jamey always let me tag along and be part of so many unbelievable adventures, many of which  I will keep as our neighborhood pack secrets forever. 

All throughout the years, David has been a joy in our family’s life. His kindness and genuineness has helped many family members and friends throughout his lifetime. 
Grabiec family, thank you for always sharing him with us.
