After 14 years of slow decline following a major stroke, David's family and friends are grateful that he has finally been freed from the physical and mental restraints that had increasingly beset him.
David graduated from Andrew Hill High School in San Jose, continued on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Sonoma State University, and began his career as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician. Over a period of 30 years with the California Department of Social Services, David dedicated himself to the welfare of the developmentally disabled and mentally challenged as well as children in foster care and day care facilities. He closed out his career as a Program Supervisor in the CDSS Community Care Licensing division.
Away from work, David typically focused on family, friends, fun and food. He enjoyed a good party and hosted many of them with Ralph, his partner and husband of 38 years. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, the beach, and cars of all kinds, always getting a kick out of turning heads when behind the wheel of his vintage convertible.
David is survived by his husband Ralph, daughters Rebecca and Teresa (Steve), his beloved grandchildren Jesse, Nikolas, Sara, Alyssa and Nathan, sisters Esther and Sylvia, brother Albert, many nieces, nephews and his great grandchildren. He will continue to warm the hearts of family and friends with memories of his carefree approach to enjoying life and his unforgettably radiant smile.
