Chieu Do passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 1, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Quan Duong of Guandong, China. Chieu Do’s lifetime expanded over 95 years and three countries. Born in China in 1926, he immigrated to Vietnam, where he met his beloved wife, Quan Duong. In early 1990’s, Chieu immigrated to the U.S., settling in San Jose, California where he spent his remaining life. Friends and family not only remembered Chieu Do for being a passionate, boisterous, and strong willed individual but also, a compassionate and caring man. His fortitude led him to support and raise a loving family during times of war and uncertainty. His children will remember him as a strict father who did everything to provide for them. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember him as a loving grandfather and great grandfather who showered them with constant love and affection. He is survived by his eight children; son Thanh Do and his wife, Mui Tran, of San Jose, CA and granddaughter, Hanh My Do, and her husband, Huy Ngoc Nguyen and great-grandchildren, Paul Ngoc Nguyen and Fionna Ngoc Nguyen, grandson Minh Do, grandson Tin Do and his wife, Hong-Minh Thi Pham and great-granddaughter, Thy Minh Do, and grandson Huy Do; daughter Nu Do and her husband, John Huynh of Woonsocket, RI and granddaughters, Elizabeth Yin Huynh and Jennifer Yin Huynh; son Mung Do and his wife, Hue Dieu Chau of San Jose, CA and granddaughter Angelie Chau Do and her husband, Dang The Tran and great-granddaughter, Huu Cat Tuong Tran and granddaughter, Tran Hue Do and her husband, Jonathan Tsang; son Thanh Do and his wife Bich Thuan Thi Nguyen of San Jose, CA and granddaughter, Loan Kim Do and her husband, Huy Nguyen and great-grandsons, Johnny Nguyen and Jordan Nguyen and granddaughter, Nhung Kim Do and her husband, Thach Van Nguyen and great-granddaughters, Daisy Nguyen and Rosy Nguyen; daughter Teffanie Do and her husband Carlos Banegas of Stockton, CA and granddaughter, Theresa Tuyet-Nhi Nguyen and grandson, Christopher Tu-Hao Nguyen; daughter Lan My Do of San Jose, CA and her goddaughter, Valerie Leung; daughter Ngoc My Do of San Jose, CA; and daughter Ha My Do and her husband, Henry Nguyen also of San Jose, CA. Visitation will be held at Jasmine Chapel Garden Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Tuesday October 20, 2020 from 1 PM to 4:30 PM PST. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 1 PM PST to 3 PM PST. All visitation is welcome. Masks are required per the guidance of Santa Clara County Public Health Department.
