

She was the second youngest of twelve children born to John and Gertrude Duellman.
After graduating from High School she received a nursing degree from a local School. When WWII broke out, Dolores and her best friend joined the Army Air Corp. They figured their nursing skills would be needed. Dolores achieved the rank of Captain and served in the 100th Army Field Hospital in Bar le Duc, France. After the war she settled in San Francisco, California where she worked at the Veterans Hospital. In 1965 she met her husband, Hugh Leo Collis, of San Jose, California. They lived in San Jose and attended the Church of the Transfiguration. They loved to travel and were members of the Gad-a-bouts Square Dance Club. Hugh passed away in 1999. Dolores remained in San Jose, until her death on June 30th, 2014.
She is survived by her stepson, Hugh J. Collis, of Chico, California; her granddaughters, Paula L. Collis, of San Jose, California and Sophie J. Collis, of Redding, California; nieces, Arlene Miller, of Riverside, California, Simone Heitman, of Fountain City, Wisconsin, and many other relatives in Wisconsin.
Memorial service will be held Thursday July 31, 2014 at 6pm at Church of the Transfiguration, 4325 Jarvis ave. San Jose.California.
Graveside service Friday August 1, 2014 at 10:15am at the Santa Clara Mission Cemetery 490 Lincon St.Santa Clara
