Doris Dimeff Isaacson
Doris Dimeff Isaacson, 87 of Morgan Hill, Ca passed away at home on August 2, 2022 and joined the love of her life Bob, who went before her on November 1, 2017. Doris was born in Los Angeles, Ca on March 16, 1935 to Olga and Stephen Dimeff. She and her husband Bob Isaacson met in junior high school. They were truly high school sweethearts- she a cheerleader and he a star athlete. They graduated from Lincoln High School in San Jose in 1952. After one semester in college (him at UC Davis and her at San Jose State they decided to marry and they were married on October 4, 1953 in Trinity Episcopal Church in San Jose and honeymooned in Carmel. They were married for 64 years.
Together they had four children, Cynthia (Steven) Tyree, Robert(Marjorie) Isaacson, Jr., Carolyn(Donald) DiTullio and Christy(Gary) Goade. They also had ten grandchildren whom they adored, Joshua (Samantha) Tyree, Jamie Doris(Paul) Tarell, Katherine Isaacson, Sandra(Matthew) White, Daniel (Michele) Isaacson, Dominic DiTullio, Corinne(Russell) Wall, Patrick (Carrie)Reyes, Kevin (Claire) Reyes, Jason(Lizette)Reyes and ten great grandchildren.
As Doris was busy raising 4 young children at home Bob was hard at work with the family business owned by him, his brother and their father. Later he was also in business with his son. Doris volunteered with Girl Scouts and made the family home a place where all of their children’s friends loved to hang out. She was also close to many nieces and nephews. She and her sister Barbara spent many an hour together with all 8 of their children in tow.
Doris and Bob shared the hobby of golf and played in many fun tournaments together. Bob was a charter member of the Almaden Golf & Country Club and Doris served as team captain for the Women’s League. They also were joggers and always had a dog or 2 around their home. They enjoyed traveling and vacationing. Some of their favorite family spots were Twain Harte and Lake Tahoe. But their favorite destination was Maui. For their 25th anniversary they took the entire family to Hawaii which eventually led to them buying property on Maui where they spent much of their last 20 years visiting together.
Doris and Bob built their dream home in Gilroy, California in 1980. Doris was known for hosting events in their home with fantastic food and fun at holiday time, birthday parties, Super Bowl parties and bridge parties. She also trained early in her life as a concert pianist and spent many an hour at the piano filling the home with music. Doris was also a member of the Gilroy Assistance League and PEO.
Doris is survived by her brothers Carl and Stephen Dimeff, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Barbara, brother John and of course, her one true love, Bob Isaacson.
A service will be held September 2, 2022, 10:00 AM Grace Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. Burial will be immediately following the service. There will be a reception following at Three Flames Restaurant, 1547 Meridian Ave, San Jose. All are welcome to attend. The family would love to greet friends and share stories and memories of our mother.
