She was born in Franklin Mine, Michigan on October 5, 1918 to Josephine Maria and Stanley
Waite. After her father was killed in a mining accident when she was only 18 months old, a
loving stepfather, Paul B. Mayrand, entered her life.
Dorothy attended Detroit Business University (and was later employed at General Motors as a
stenographer) where she met her husband, Raymond Oberschulte. Dorothy and Ray were
married on February 7, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan.
She is survived by two daughters; Gail Patricia Wesling (Paul) of Saratoga, CA and Nancy Jo
Hinsen of San Jose, CA; five grandchildren, Andrew R. Wesling (Carolyn), Brian P. Wesling
(Karen), Josephine Catherine, Christopher F. Grey (Laura), Miguel R. Grey (Monica) and fifteen
great-grandchildren, Hailey, Katie, Annika, Rebekah, Emily, Ethan, Isaac, Lauren, Garret,
Nathan, Jasmine, Isaiah, Esther, David and Luis.
Services will be held at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church, 5100 Camden Ave, San Jose, CA 95124
on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the church Fellowship Hall.
