I have known Dr. Kay since 1966. As a student at San Jose State College I worked for him. He was a kind man with a great sense of humor. I met him again when I joined the Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County three decades later and he still remembered me. He was an amazing soul and will be missed. I will always remember him fondly.

Dear Bill's family,
I worked closely with Bill in the Master Gardener program on the hotline and newsletter, they were some of my favorite times. 
We would not only talk about gardening, but would also joke about my coyote,(a yellow lab).
He was my friend and I will never forget my time with him.

Deepest condolences to the Kay family. Dr. Kay made a early positive impression on me, I remember going with my mother, Laverne Tibbits Wise to his Tully Rd office in the 1950's.
Mom's family also farmed on Tully Rd.

I'm sorry to read about the recent passing away of Dr. Kay.  Some of our family pets have seen him in the past. I send my condolences to the family.

The sweet memories of Bill Kay will live always in the memories of those whose lives he touched.  

He was the first Veterinarian my cats had when we moverd to Willow Glen in 1987.  They both turned belly up in his arms, on each meeting, for his gentle belly rubs. (My cats did not do that for me!)

Kay Family I am saddened by this news as Dr Kay was a GOOD GUY!  I am indebted to him as it was his constant "ribbing" to me to finish my Engineering Degree at SJSU.  I did finish and he then moved on to "now go get a job". I did.  Your Dad really did make a difference in my life and gave me a great perspective on life.   My best regards to the Kay Family

My deepest condolences to all of you.  I have had the pleasure to visit your Father when Walking my Bernese Mountain Dog "Oliver" daily for almost 2 years until we moved.  We so much enjoyed our daily visits and friendship.  He was a wonderful man and someone both Oliver and I will miss dearly.  He always was so happy to see us and made us smile.  He had such an incredible way with Dogs that they just wanted to be with him.  "Thanks for the great memories and Friendship  Dr Kay.... "

Your Dad was one of the best guys ever and a central figure in many fond memories.  He was a great friend, an amazing man and a terrific Vet.  We loved him and will miss him.  Please accept our condolences and best wishes.

As a fellow Master Gardener from the class of 1989, I would just like to say that Bill will be missed.  My thoughts are with him and all of you, his loved ones.

My thoughts and prayers are with his children.  In 2001, Bill was my mentor in Master Gardeners. His smile and jokes made it very easy for me.  I treasure his memory.

To the Kay family, I am very sorry for your loss.  I have been Bill Kay's CPA for about 20 years and he was one of my favorite people.  We had some very amusing conversations over the years, mostly about child rearing and I was the recipient of much sage advice. I appreciated his wit and miss him greatly
