15, 2025, at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. Born on May 1, 1933, in Tondo, Manila, Philippines,
Ernie was the beloved son of Potenciano and Consuelo Ramirez.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Ramelo, Orlando, Franklin and sister Vilma. He came to
the United States to attend Western Maryland College and later at the University of New Mexico.
Eventually, he moved to San Francisco, where he met the love of his life, Aurora Quisol. The two
married and enjoyed 36 years of devotion to one another before Aurora’s passing in 1995.
Ernie dedicated over four decades of his professional life to the freight forwarding business based out
of San Francisco International Airport. Outside of work, Ernie relished traveling the West Coast,
taking cherished family trips that spanned from British Columbia, Canada, to Tijuana, Mexico and
yearly visits to Disneyland and Magic Mountain, as well as Lake Tahoe with extended family.
He was a handyman at heart, often found fishing, crabbing, camping, or lending his expertise on
various projects with his brother-in-law.
Known as "Uncle Lolo" to many, he was a mentor and father figure who generously extended love,
wisdom and guidance to family and friends alike. He had an incredible gift for meaningful
conversations and was deeply committed to his faith, leading Bible studies in his home and singing in
the church choir.
Ernie leaves behind his daughters Arlene and her husband Michael Williams, Stella and her husband
Kenny Daigre, Linda, Evangeline (Gigi) and her partner Anthony Alvarado and Jocelyn (Jojo). He
is also survived by his grandchildren Kailani, Kiara, Kimeya, Karisa, and Michael Jr. (MJ), as well as
his great-grandchildren Jakari (JAHH), Mikah and Dontee҅ Jr. (DEUCE) and their loving parents.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who visited Ernie during his final
days at Stanford Hospital, whether in person or through phone calls. Your messages of love and
support provided him with immense comfort and strength, even though he was unable to respond.
Additionally, we extend our profound thanks to the dedicated medical team who stood by the family
with unwavering support during this challenging time.
With cherished memories, shared laughter, and tender tears, Ernie lived a remarkable life filled with
love, faith, and resilience. Now reunited with Aurora after 30 years, we find solace in knowing that
they are together again, watching over their family from above.
Ernie’s favorite verse was Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings likes eagles; they
will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.
This is not goodbye—it is simply, "Until we meet again."
