Frances Jean Olson

Frances Jean Olson passed away at home, in her sleep on June 22, 2023 at the age of 95. Born in Hollister on August 29, 1927, she was the youngest of three daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Anna Olson, her sisters Mae Fischer and Norma Vlastelica and nephew Jim Fischer. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Fran (Tom) Chadwick, Joan Fischer, Tom (Becky) Fischer, Paul (Cathy) Vlastelica, Carol Wagner, Mary Filice and Fred (Nancy) Fischer, along with great nieces and nephews.

Frances worked in finance with the City of San Jose and County of Santa Clara. Upon her retirement, she did volunteer work in many areas. The most joyful was with the Gilroy CHP, where she was given a Certificate of Commendation for over 10 years of volunteer service accumulating over 2,800 hours of clerical and office tasks.

She loved her 49ers, rarely missing a game on TV, while dressed in her red and gold T-shirt. Always cheering them on with a 49er coffee mug or wine glass in hand.

Funeral services are being held at 10:00 AM, Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose on July 11, 2023.

The family is grateful for her wonderful caregiver, Poedee Little who provided years of devotion, with laughter, friendship and love.
