March 30, 1930 – April 25, 2025
Resident of San Jose, California
Frances Tamburino entered into rest at home in San Jose on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the age of 95. She was surrounded by her daughter Jennifer, Mike, and her beloved cat, Marmalade.
A native of San Jose, Frances was born on March 30, 1930. She married the love of her life, the late Orlando “Joe” Tamburino, on April 26, 1953. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and tradition. Frances and Joe raised three children: Connie, Jennifer, and Joseph (Joey). They were later blessed with a cherished granddaughter, Krista “Bedda” Buzolich, whom they both adored deeply. Frances also held close her son-in-law Marc Buzolich, daughter-in-law Janet Tamburino, and Jennifer’s boyfriend Mike Zapfe, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Frances dedicated many years as a devoted stay-at-home mom before working at Beechnut Baby Food in San Jose, where she remained until the company’s closure. Known for her warmth and generous spirit, Frances was often described as the sweetest, kindest, and most loving woman. She was the heart of every gathering, hosting unforgettable parties with unmatched food—her homemade pizza and pasta were famous among family and friends, who always arrived hungry knowing a feast awaited.
She was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers, especially her favorite players Kittle and Bosa. Though she never played sports herself, she loved cheering on the 49ers, the Warriors, and watching golf with her husband. Saturdays were reserved for Hallmark movies, which she watched contentedly all day long.
Frances leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and togetherness. She was our matriarch, the last of an era, and one of a kind.
She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nidhi Gupta, MD, of Kaiser Permanente Campbell, for the many years of compassionate care. Special thanks also go to Best Hospice Providers, especially her hospice nurse Jason and home aide Lily, for their exceptional support.
