Garry Lee Hawkinson II of Redwood Estates, CA is a dead person, he is bereft of life, he is deceased, he has expired, he has rung down the curtain, he has gone to join the choir invisible, and he has gone to meet his maker. However you choose to view it, he is no more. He drifted off this mortal coil on April 9, 2019 from his residence or his “ball and chain, hell hole, anchor, torture chamber”, and many other honorable statements he liked to use for the house he lived in.
His irascible spirit was released from its worn-out abused shell of a body and is now exploring and no doubt arguing with everyone in the universe. While Garry could be cantankerous and even angry at times, he was nonetheless a loving brother, an amazing friend and a wonderful man who was loved by many who had the opportunity to meet, work, play and laugh with him.
His biggest fear was to die alone and, guess what, it happened. He was not surrounded by his loved ones, but he did leave behind his three sisters to clean up his damn mess. He is no doubt laughing his ass off and saying “you left me with our dad’s mess, now you get to clean up mine and his.” He has also left behind a son he loved immensely and always wanted to watch grow. Oh wait, he will be doing that.
Cremation will take place at the family’s convenience and his ashes will be kept in an urn until they get tired of having him around. He often expressed that he felt his sisters would throw him in the trash and, while he didn’t really care what happened to him after his departure, he did state that the dump was really not where he would like to end up. Good thing for him there is room for him to cohabitate with his parents. We’d say rest in peace, but as we all know, there is no rest for the wicked.
Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Garry’s life in their own way by raising a glass of your favorite drink or taking a toke of your favorite smoke in his memory. The celebration will begin at 1pm at the Redwood Estates Pavilion on May 19th.
Instead of flowers, Garry would hope that you would do an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for some poor unfortunate soul in his name.
