Gary David Bates

Gary David Bates, September 9, 1964 – December 5, 2017. Gary passed away from complications of a massive stroke. Gary is survived by his parents David Bates and Jean Negrette . Step parents Hank Negrette and Wendy Bates. Gary was a devoted father to four boys, David, Eric, Nick and Ryan and grandfather to Peyton. Gary spent his final day taking his family to Nick’s wrestling meet where Nick placed 3rd out of 600. A Loving bother to Barbara and Deanne, and brother-in-laws John and Scott. Loyal uncle to Jamie, Daniel and Harmony. He will be missed by his loyal sidekick Oreo and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

If you were one of Gary’s friends you were definitely loved. Gary has maintained life long friendships from his childhood, his days working at Raychem, City of San Jose, Mattos Towing and AT&T. Gary was a motorcycle enthusiast and a creative artist. He was also known to light up a room with his charisma and sense of humor.

Graveside services will be held at Oakhill Cemetery, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, Wednesday December 13, 2017 we will meet in the lobby at 1:00 p.m. Reception immediately following at The Drying Shed Restaurant 402 Toyon Avenue, San Jose.
