Today my friend Paula (who is also a Hospice nurse) brought me an article from the Bay Area News Group called The Cost Of Dying 4/28/13 Sect. V.  When I turned to page 22 and saw Gayla's smiling face looking at me I could hear that unmistakable, hearty and cheerful laugh of her's.  As a novice nurse just starting my Hospice career I was so impressed by Gayla's natural, no-nonsense manner and keen sense of humor which in turn brought a sense of peace, confidence and well-being to her patient's, their families, and the entire caregiver team.  She was a great mentor.  She saw the world through her beautiful eyes and was able to then share that beauty with others through her paintings. God Speed Gayla your memory is in my heart.

I worked with Gayla at Pathways for a couple of years. She had a great sense of humor and a very warm and loving heart. Her patients were very fortunate to have her as their nurse. She will be missed a lot .

My deepest condolences to Gayla's family and friends.  She was an awesome hospice nurse and had the best sense of humor.  She will be greatly missed.
