I was so sorry to hear about Gem's passing.  I have wonderful memories for us hanging out with your bif brother, Gem during high school.  Miss you, Stalee!  My love and prayers go out to you and your family.

I am glad for the moments in life that I was able to share with my brother-in-law Gem, which were too few.  Gem was always a quiet, positive, smiling presence at all occasions.  I don't ever remember Gem saying a negative thing about anyone.  His smile is etched in my mind -- always present wherever he went.  My favorite remembrance was the "guys" fishing trip we made to Monterey -- with Gem, Vance, Bob, and Stan -- we were tossing 22-25 lb. salmon into the boat one after another -- a moment in time that won't ever be replicated.  Gem was such a calming, positive influence -- he will live on in our memories always.  I am glad for the time that I was able to spend with Gem, and his positive influence will live on with me.

TO MY FAMILY UNCLE GEM I MISS U SO MUCH IM SO SORRY I WASNT THERE TO SEE U THESE LAST DAYS I HOPE CAN FORGIVE ME....I STILL CANT BELIEVE UR GONA... To the Murakami family, I am sadden by the news. I am sorry for your loss. Mr. Murakami was one of the best managers I had at walgreens. He was a sweet man, loving husband and wonderful father.

I was deeply sadden to hear the passing of Gem and would like to express my sincerest condolences. Even though I haven't seen him in years, I remember him as being a happy, kind spirited and always smiling person. He will be greatly missed by all.

So sorry to hear of Gem's passing.  We were team mates on the frosh-soph water polo team Gem introduced me to surfing, we the valley guys, had many days of fun at Cowell"s beach,and other breaks in Santa Cruz. Some times we just hung out in S.J. cruising around.  -Tim Stiehr

Eventhough i did not know my uncle Gem as well as my older siblings everytime i saw him he always made me laugh alot i will miss him dearly.

To the Murakami family,

Gem and I were manager at Walgreens for almost 2yrs.  He is a very kind and well respected person all around.  He was funny, helpful and taught me alot during those time.  My heart and prayers go out to his family for such a very wonderful man.  I will miss him very very dearly.  God Bless him and his family.....

I have good memories of Gem from when he was in my eighth grade class. It was a pleasure to have him as a student. He was such a happy person,and he shared that happiness with many people.  I send you, his family, my sincerest condolences and thanks for sharing him with me.

I'm so saddened to learn of Gem's passing. I haven't seen him in years, but we spent many a time together playing water polo at JLHS and SJCC, as well as swimming-year round. I fondly remember cruising around in his silver Firebird like it was yesterday. My condolences go out to his great family, as you go through this tough time. Rest in Peace old buddy.

I will always remember your husband and dad as kind and gentle who always laughed at my jokes or was it at me.. I don't know but he was always so nice. It's hard because Alma and Gem would always come to my get togethers before my own family would. I remember the times when I would meet Alma for cakes and Gem would be at her side on the passenger seat.. always smiling.. it's hard... but he was a great man and will be dearly missed... Love to you all.
