Her career included an opportunity to work in Oak Ridge, Tennessee during World War 2. She also was a pastry chef at Woolworth in Athens, Georgia. For a number of years she was the chef for a sorority house at an all-boys only University of Georgia; where they indulged in home cooked meals.
Geneva and Nathaniel Dumont Arnold married in Georgia in the early 40s. Her first born was Mary Lee, second born Beatrice (deceased 2014), third born Diana. She passionately loved dressing her girls to the “T”.
She transitioned to New Jersey; where she met her lifelong union Johnny Cooper with this union she gave birth to her precious baby boy Michael Cooper. Her final stay was in San Jose, California.
Geneva had many passions in life, including homemaking, cooking, and gardening.
Geneva had quite the personality. She was truly an extrovert; always the center of attention. She was full of laughter and high spirited. She even invented a treasured family game called “Last tag” which is still played till this day! Gigi enjoyed having fun, traveling, and having conversations with the younger generations.
After relocating back to California she dedicated her life to Christ and became a devoted member of Light of the World Apostolic Church. As a young lady God revealed she would be the last surviving sibling.
Geneva is survived by her three beautiful children. Mary L. Arnold McBride~San Jose, CA, Diana Arnold Lattimore~Athens, GA, Michael Cooper (Nancy Cooper)~Campbell, CA. And son in law LaVaughn Armstead~ Madera, CA. Sixteen grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 12 great great children.
