I am so sorry to learn of George's passing. Although we had not seen each other in many years he was often on my mind as a friend of 65 years.

George and I were kids growing up in San Juan Bautista in 1950. He was three years my senior but he was always so kind and generous to me as a little kid. I recall we played basketball or high jump at the track at the old school next to their home. We often went hunting in the valley below his house and his folks took me along for driving trips to the coast, which at that time was a long trip. His Mom often invited me to stay for dinner, chicken and dumplings, something else I recall fondly.

They had two horses and I think this is what first sparked my interest in horses. s a result I have had horses since I was old enough to afford to pay for them. To this day I still have horses and use them in the cattle business in northern California.

Friends have described him as a kind and gentle giant, which is exactly right. I have nothing but fond memories of George, which will remain with me for the rest of my life. One could never ask for a better friend than George and I am so sorry to learn that he has moved on ahead. I know one day we'll all see him again in a better place. 

My condolences and love to Phyllis and the girls and I am sorry I was not able to attend the service.

Never will you meet such a kind caring man as Mr. Faxon.  He was a light that will continue to shine for all who  knew him and for thoes who did not have the pleasure, you missed out! Thank you for being part of our Chandler Court family, you will be missed but our memories will stay with us forever! Our thoughts and prayers to Mrs Faxon, Michelle and Cynthia and extended family that God will comfort you in this diffucult time and you find strength in Him and each other. George was such a kind person and will be missed by all who knew him.

George, you were one of a kind. Your demeanor may have been quiet, but your legacy speaks loudly. I am one of so many Chandler Court kids blessed to grow up beneath the shelter of your outstretched wings. You watched over your family and friends in this life and I know you will continue to do so from your new eternal home. You are and always will be loved and missed.

George has gone much too soon. It is such a shock. George was such a lovable teddy bear of a man.  He was so kind and he always took such good care of Phyllis.  We will miss you George!

The wording for this wonderful man was exactly how I remembered him. Very quite and kind and him sitting in his special chair. It was such a pleasure to have him and his family in the wonderful Chandler Ct family.He will be truly missed. Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

It's hard to believe that I won't get to hang out with George anymore for our monthly card night as our former quartet has been doing for the past several years. We rotated hosting, and we'd play pinochle, drink beer, eat chips, and swap stories. It was a great way to keep up with the happenings in each of our busy lives, and it was abundantly clear from what George had to say that family was so very important to him. He spoke quite lovingly of his children and grandchildren, and his continuing love affair with Phyllis was so easy to see. He was always low-key, but had good stories to share, and was a real pleasure to spend time with. A true prince of a guy, he surely will be missed!
