George Yamashita

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. George Yamashita, who peacefully left us on April 1, 2025. Born in 1942, George lived a full life filled with love and purpose. His resilience and kind practical spirit touched all who knew him.

His memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife, Jane married 62 years. His three children Jill, Adam (Gina), and Maile (Patrick) remain. His grandchildren Zachary, Ruby, Malia, Kai, and Keoni will all miss Grandpa. Brother to beloved sister Toshi, Nancy, Bobby, Harry, and Susan. He was a favorite uncle to many nieces and nephews. George was a respected PG&E gas service employee for nearly 40 years in San Jose. He loved the mountains, fishing, family cultural traditions, gardening, and slots! His legacy will continue through the lives of all of those that he influenced. He will be deeply missed yet fondly remembered for the joy he brought into this world.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, 3:00pm at the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin located at 640 North Fifth Street, San Jose, California.
