Gino was born in Terracina, Italy on April 9, 1940 to Cesareo & Adele Maragoni, and was the youngest
of their five children. He left Italy at a young age with his family for Toronto, Canada. There, in 1957, he
joined UA Plumbers Union Local 46 at the age of 17. Gino came to San Jose, CA with his parents in 1963,
where he continued his career as a plumber with UA Local 393, joining on Sept. 2, 1963 and retiring Jan.
1, 2000. He remained a member in good standing until his death, and was proud of his 65 year
Membership with the UA of Plumbers & Steamfitters.
Gino enjoyed Italian food, watching Italian cooking shows and reading of his native Italy. He also had a
contagious love of soccer, which was matched only by his knowledge of the game. He was often found
cheering for his favorite team, Inter Milan, and would be happy to talk soccer for hours!
Aside from soccer, Gino was not usually a man of many words, but his quiet demeanor did not
accurately represent his deep love for his family.
Gino was proceeded in death by his parents, Cesareo and Adele Maragoni, brothers, Ralph, Ovidio and
Fulvio and sister Velia. Gino is survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews
who will all miss him and his love for his family.
