Guadalupe A. Muniz entered into eternal rest on Feb. 16, 2021, shy of her 100th birthday in San Jose, CA. Guadalupe was preceded in death by her husband Modesto Muniz II, her sons, John Muniz, Modesto Muniz III and by her great-grandson John Muniz III. She is survived by three daughters, Norma Ritland (Paul); Elva Connell (Dennis); Leticia Tennison (Rick); son Roland Muniz (Sheryl); 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Born on October 23, 1921 in San Benito, Texas, Guadalupe and Modesto moved their family to California in the 1950’s. She later had a career in interior design in the Bay Area. She was an extraordinary artist in sculpting, oil painting and drawing, inspiring her children and grandchildren to also pursue artistic endeavors. Her life was filled with grandbabies, art, books, music, ornamental elephants, her signature homemade hot chocolate and her annual white flocked Christmas tree. She was the matriarch and celebrated centerpiece of her family. She will be remembered for her warm smile, laughter and love.
