Herman (Armando) R. Alvarez, 93, passed peacefully on January 23, 2011, with his loving wife Gloria at his side. He is survived by five children and their spouses: Edward and Nina Alvarez, Raul and Dora Alvarez, Salvador and Sylvia Alvarez, Will and Dora Martin, and Armando and Mercedes Alvarez. He is beloved and missed by his 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Rosary will be held Sunday, January 30, at 7:30 p.m.; and Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m. Both services to be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church at 4601 Hyland Ave., San Jose.
