"With the death of my mother, I learned that some things are final in this world. I could not go back and change anything. I could not ask the Lord to give my mami another chance. I knew I had the gospel of Jesus Christ and the hope of the Resurrection to help me. The strength of a testimony is vital. I did a lot of soul-searching and determined that everything I had professed to believe throughout my life was indeed true. I began to find comfort in small, simple things, and I began to allow the Spirit into my heart and to feel the love of my Savior." 
“Suffering is universal; how we react to suffering is individual. Suffering can take us one of two ways. It can be a strengthening and purifying experience when combined with faith, or a destructive force in our lives if we do not have faith in the Lord’s atoning sacrifice. The purpose of suffering, however, is to build and strengthen us. We learn obedience by the things we suffer.” 
The earth was created as a place for our Heavenly Father’s children to live and gain experience. Ian's suffering and learning have been completed. He suffers no more, but his spirit lives.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
WHERE WILL WILL GO AFTER THIS LIFE? From an earthly perspective, physical death may seem like an end, but really it is a beginning, a step forward in our Heavenly Father’s plan. At death, your spirit will leave your body and go to the spirit world, which is a place of learning and preparation. In the spirit world, your memories of this life will remain with you. 
The great gift of God to all who come to earth is the resurrection!

With heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Mr. Ruiz. May you find comfort in God's Word and in knowing that others feel your sadness as well.  Death and the loss of a dear loved one are the hardest things that we will probably ever have to cope with in this life.  But the Bible offers hope!  Pointing to a glorious time just ahead, Isaiah 25:8 (and Revelation 21:3,4) says "God will actually swallow up death forever and Jehovah God will certainly wipe the tears from all faces.  Please also read John 5:28,29.  These wonderful verses have helped many bereaved ones, including myself. I hope you will find the same comfort.  Once again, my deepest and sincerest condolences.

Losing someone we love is one of life’s greatest hardships, but the Bible offers a reassuring hope.
