

He is survived by Maryellen his wife of 46 years and their children Ismael Jr, Avrora and Jesus. Also, sisters Alicia Fabela, Edelmira Gomez, Euginia Bentayeb and Susana Garcia.
He was born May 19, 1956 in El Paso Texas and moved with his parents to San Jose California in the early 1970s. He is preceeded in death by his parents Fidel L and Josefina Parra and his
siblings Martha Biddle, Reynaldo Parra, Luis Parra.
He attended James Lick High school. After High School He met the love of his life Maryellen and they Married in November 1975.
He became Santa for first time that Christmas at her request for his nieces and nephews. He continued being Santa for his family, friends and the community the rest of his life.
He enjoyed life and all it had to offer. He had a love of fishing, camping, Chevy trucks ( He was formally Vice President of the San Jose Chapter of California StepSides in the 1970s), collecting cars and riding his motorcycle.
Ismael gave back to his community in many ways most recently with the Christmas ride, Christmas drive-thru event and the Easter basket giveaway all for children in need. He honored others with the Fallen Brothers ride and motorcycle blessing.
But mostly he was a loving husband, great father, caring friend, good neighbor and ready to help anyone. He leaves behind a great legacy of giving back, being a great friend and always sharing a good laugh.
He worked for FMC until closure in 1986 then for The city of san jose until medically retired.

A rosary service will occur Monday, March 7, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A visitation will occur Monday, March 7, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A final viewing will occur Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Lucy Parish, 2350 S Winchester Blvd, Campbell, CA 95008. A committal service will occur Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.
