It is with great sadness that the family of James (Jim) W. Critzer announces his passing after a long battle with cancer, on Sunday, October 25, at the age of 75. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 22 years, Amy and his children, Christopher and Nicole. In addition to his many professional achievements, one of Jim biggest achievements was becoming a father at 58. The twins were his greatest pride and joy. He was a great husband and a proud & supportive father.
A full-fledged Hossier, Jim was born in Marion County, Indiana in Nov. 1944 to George and Dorotha Critzer (both deceased). Jim attended the University of Indiana & graduated with a Degree in Business. He served 6 years with the Army National Guard and spent a portion of his life in Taiwan as an expat. Few can say they lived and traveled as much as he did and fewer can say they were as knowledgeable.
Jim is also survived by his goddaughters (Amy Bates and Jasmine Singh), sister-in-law, Irene Irby, nephew, Cheyenne Irby, his cousin, Kathy Cox, ex-wife (Ced Critzer), ex-sister-in-law (Weege and Artie) & nephew Chris Drexler. He will be missed most of all by all his friends and colleagues at National Semiconductor, and by the families & coaches of his kids’ swimming & water-polo teams whose life he had directly touched.
A Funeral Service in memory of Jim will be held on Monday, November 16 at 10.00am at the Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose CA 95020. Father Michael of Saint Mary in Gilroy will officiate Mass / Service. Interment will follow in the family plot at Oak Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Jim to Cancer Research
