James Joseph Giuffre passed away peacefully on December 18 2010 at age 85 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit and generosity.
James was born in San Jose, Ca, graduated from Bellermine high School and earned a B.A. Degree in Accounting from San Jose State University.While serving in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, James flew in the B17 Bomber as a gunner and served notably 27 missions over the European phase. James worked for the U.S. Department of Treasury IRS Agent for 30 years as an auditor of Fortune 500 Corporations. After retiring in 1980, James worked as an auditor for a private CPA firm. James was a parishioner at St. Christopher's Catholic Church for over 60 years. During this time, James served as Treasurer of St. Christopher's Holy Name Society. In addition, he volunteered as an Usher and Eucharist Minister. He was also involved with the Serra Club. James enjoyed gradating, golfing but most importantly his wife Antoinette, children, grandchildren, friends and extended family. James is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years Antoinette, his lovely children Karen (Jay) Cook of Monterey, Ca, Jim (Jean) Giuffre of Boise, Idaho, Patty (Paul) Lindsay of El Dorado Hills, Ca and Ron (Angie) Giuffre of Durham, CA, and grandchildren, Jess, Jennifer, Jason, Lauren, Jolie, Christopher and Michael. Hi is also survived by his sisters Fran DiSalvo of San Jose, CA and Maryanne Carlstroem (Charles of Los Angeles, CA. You will always be in our hearts with your spaghetti sauce made with lots of love, kindness and fantastic amount of humor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of The Valley or Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1576 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, Ca. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M.. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, Santa Clara, Ca. Arrangements by Lima Family Erickson Funeral Home, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, Ca.
