She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John V. Nuñez Sr.; her parents; and her siblings Lupe, Victor, Teresa, and Fernando.
Jennie was born in Sonora, Mexico, on October 12, 1937, and was registered with the parish on December 12, 1937, resulting in two birthdays—just in case anyone forgot one.
Jennie was an extraordinary woman whose kindness, compassion, and unconditional love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Whether you were family, a lifelong friend, or someone she had just met, Jennie opened her heart to you. She listened without judgment, offered comfort without hesitation, and guided others with wisdom, patience, and grace. Rather than telling people what to do, she helped them find their own path and encouraged them to become their best selves.
Her family was the center of her world. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose love knew no bounds. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy and filled her heart with happiness. Jennie's warmth, strength, generosity, and unwavering love created a legacy that will live on through the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca (JoeRay), Laura, John Jr. (April), and Michael (Sheilah); her grandchildren Vanessa (Ralf), Marisa (Tony), Dana (David), Amanda (Edward), Nicolas, Rachel (Yvette), Alex, Deven, Julianna, Elias, Eric, and Nicholas; and her cherished great-grandchildren Harper, Sofia, Damien, Nala, Yolandi, Donovan, Paloma, and Giselle, who will join the family in July.
She is also survived by her beloved siblings Rogelio, Rosa, Jose, Fred, Maria and Sister-in-Laws Carmen and Clara as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A special thank you to her wonderful caregivers, Miriam, Melissa, Citlally and Veronica. Also, to the incredible staff at the Stanford Infusion Center. Their great care allowed our family to care for our mother at home until the end.
Jennie will be remembered not only for the love she gave to her family, but for the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and enduring love leave a lasting imprint on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
