Jewell Norene Wilcoxon

Jewell N. Wilcoxon, Judy, as she was known to friends and family, passed away, November 17, 2010. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Judy is survived by her daughter Shyrl Smiley (Bill), son Larry Wilcoxon (Denise), granddaughters Kristin Smiley, Lauren Wilcoxon, and grandsons Brian and Eric Wilcoxon.

Judy was a long time resident of Watsonville and Aptos. She operated her own beauty salon and was active in Lily of the Valley Chapter of Eastern Star until her retirement. Throughtout her life she was an avid gardener and lover of nature. She and her husband, Charles, spent their retirement years traveling throughout the United States and abroad. She met her husband Chuck while working at Cessna Airplane Factory in Whichita, Kansas, where they were both employed by Cessna Airplane Factory. After their marriage, she worked as a welder in the Portand, Oregon shipyard, while he flew B-24 in the Pacific. She will be missed by her family and many of her Rio Del Mar neighbors. She was a well respected character in the local community.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, in Gustine, Ca.
