Jimmy Lloyd Rash December 18, 1940- October 16, 2020 San Jose

Jimmy (Jim) Lloyd Rash was born in Cherryvale, Kansas and was the son of Lloyd and Mary Louise Rash. He spent his childhood in Cherryvale, surrounded by a large family.

Following graduation from Cherryvale High School, he won a scholarship to Kansas State University where he obtained bachelors and masters degrees in Nuclear Engineering. He began his working career at Hanford in Richland, WA. He later went to work at General Electric in San Jose, CA where he had a long career with a specialty in licensing analysis for nuclear power plants. His career took him on travels throughout the US and in various places in the world, including Japan.

Jim is survived by his beloved siblings: brothers Larry, Jerry, Jack, Jon, Bill and Bruce Rash and sisters Jayne Knight and Marlene Poole.

Jim loved his family, cats and dogs, especially his faithful companion dog Maggie who survives him. He was known for his affable personality and kind heartedness as well as an ironic sense of humor. He loved to read and to keep in touch with family and friends. He enjoyed travelling, including visits to his family in Kansas as well as trips to Mexico and Australia.

He passed away at Stanford Hospital after he was admitted for complications from a fall. Cremation has taken place at Oak Hill Memorial Park and his ashes are to be buried in the family plot at Cherryvale, KS.

To the family of Jim Rash:
So sorry to hear of Jim's passing. We were classmates of the Class of '58 at Cherryvale High School. We were also at Kansas State University at the same time. We managed to keep in touch over the years through reunions and email. He will be missed.
