Uncle Che' an amazing man with a loving spirit. A man after God's own heart. Who to me always represented the perfect example of a God fearing man, willing to help, be supportive and lead by example. May the heavens open up with song as you are Welcomed home.. I love you always.

Uncle Joe, You were always smiling and you showed us (your family) you were happy to see us. Through my dad sharing stories of you and he growing up, I learned how loving and caring you were. With great sadness we acknowledge the passing of Joe Lara; he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Joe passed away at home on Friday November 16, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Joe, born and raised in Santa Paula, CA relocated to San Jose in 1950. Joe was a WWII Veteran and has been awarded the Silver Star for “Gallantry in War”. He retired after 29 years working for the city of San Jose. Joe was a long time member of the Church Templo la Hermosa serving as a Royal Ranger Commander and Treasurer. Joe lived his life demonstrating his love and faith of God. Joe enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren's sporting events and vacationing with family. His many interests included drawing, painting, tending to his garden, and watching boxing with his family. Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife the late Hildelisa V. Lara, of 50 years, his children and their spouses, Joe Jr., Hildelisa, Angelica (Mike Ecdao), the late Abel, Jason (Jackie), Jennifer (Jesse Cantu), his grandchildren Greg (Jenny), Richie, Ruben, Angel, Mike, David (Alicia), Theresa (Allan Miller), Desiree, Sarah, Jacob, Jesse, Melanie, Julia, Kali, Ashley, Noelle, and Justin, his great-grandchildren, Ruben, Marcus, Gabi, Isa, Noah, Hans, and Elijah, and many siblings and extended family. He touched the lives of countless people and will be fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity, wisdom.

Pop you leave me with a broken heart, but i am settled in knowing you are at rest and with mom and Abel.  You have made a positive impact on many lives including mine.  Thank you for being you. You are my Hero and I LOVE YOU.                                                                       Always your daughter.

Although we are celebrating Thanksgiving today and have so much to be thankful for, like having had great parents like you and Mom. It is so hard to believe you are no longer here with us. I am very thankful for having such a strong and loving wonderful Father like you! I will forever miss you but will always carry all the wonderful memories, it comforts me to know you are now with Mom and Abel. I love you and miss you Pop!

Grandpa Thank you for coming to my baseball games and Disneyland. I miss you very much.
