

John J. Zingheim passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at the age of 88. He was surrounded by what meant the most to him, the company of his wife, children and grandchildren.
John will be missed by his wife of over 53 years, Claudette Zingheim and his four children, Richard Bays, Cindy Churchill, Curt Zingheim and Julie Ferreira. He is also survived and loved by his 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
John was a practicing Orthodontist in the Santa Clara valley for 42 years and was a past president of the Santa Clara County Dental Society where he played an integral part in setting up the original Dental Society office in Santa Clara County.
John was very proud to have served his country and was a veteran of World War ll where he earned a purple heart and participated in the liberation of prisoners from Nazi concentration camps. His 104th Infantry Division, “Timberwolves” is honored at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. John was a donor and member of the Patriot’s Club and was recently accompanied by his son, Curt, to the World War ll Museum in Louisiana where he was honored along with other WW ll survivors for their service.
He was also an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fly fishing, and part-time ranching.

A private memorial with family and close friends to honor John’s life will be held in early spring under direction of Oak Hill Funeral Home, San Jose.
