In loving memory of our beloved mother and grandmother, Josefa Acosta, who passed away on May 30th, 2022 at the age of 86, after a brief illness. She was born June 8, 1935 in Monte Escobedo, Mexico to parents Bartolo and Maria Sanchez.
Josefa married Uriel Acosta in 1965 in Monte Escobedo, Mexico. They spent the early part of their marriage and starting their family in San Jose, California. In 1984, they moved with Uriel’s job to O’Fallon, Missouri where they spent the majority of their time before relocating recently back to San Jose, California.
Josefa is survived by her loving husband, Uriel Acosta of San Jose, three children; Frank Acosta and his wife, Cristina of San Jose, Urielito (Rudy) Acosta and his wife, Monica of Cave Springs, Arkansas, and Manuel Acosta and his wife, T.J. of Winfield, Missouri. Josefa is also survived by her sisters, Cecilia Lucas and Pilar Sanchez of San Jose, Ana María Sanchez of Tijuana, Mexico, and Andrea Navarro of San Jose, and her brothers, Anasticio Sanchez of San Jose and Agustín Sanchez of Phoenix, Arizona.
Josefa is also survived by her grandchildren whom she adored; Kailey and Joshua Acosta, Kristina, Gianna, and Joseph Jimenez; and Braeden, Gaven, and Peyton Acosta and great-grandchild, Kamryn, along with her numerous Brother-In-Law & Sister-In-Laws and Nieces and Nephews.
Josefa joins her parents Bartolo and Maria Sanchez, her two brothers Eugenio Sanchez and Rodrigo Sanchez and her precious daughter Anna in Heaven.
Josefa was a homemaker and cared deeply for her family. She was generous with her love and shared her love through giving gifts. She loved to cook and was highly skilled at crocheting, sewing and crafting. She could replicate about any item by studying it and often making patterns from scratch. Gardening was also her passion with her tending daily to her numerous plants and trees. She enjoyed her weekly outings to the local Bingo Hall with her husband. She also loved her two birds that were her babies.
Mom, you will always be in our hearts and we will never forget you. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
