Hi grandpa,

I’ve been thinking of you this holiday season. Grandma is not doing well. Please stay by her side and provide her with comfort during this time, but I know I don’t need to tell you that. I know you already are. Please watch over auntie Diane a little more than you already do. The holidays always make me a little sad, but I know that you, along with others who have passed are always watching down on us. 

I love you grandpa, and miss you everyday.

Happy birthday Grandpa.

It’s been 6 years since you’ve been gone. I miss you. I wish we would be able to celebrate with you… and with time, I honestly don’t remember whether we held parties for you. So bad I know! The parties I remember fondly are the ones for the children. As I grew older, I’ve grown to really appreciate my childhood and the parties we had . There have been a few times where I had vivid dreams of you. Of you hugging me. Of you forgiving me. Of you saying it’s OK for the stress I caused from going out and coming home late, and for the bickering that does not even matter anymore. For sneaking in boyfriends. But it was a two way street. You were mean to me sometimes. I remember I dyed my hair blonde and you chose not to talk or acknowledge me for a few months. That hurt my feelings. You weren’t perfect, but I always knew you loved me, and I loved you too. I wish you were here so you can be here to meet the person I have become, because I like her. I wish that I was able to go to the commissary with you or go to the store with you. Listening to your dear Abby columns or quiz questions. I know death is a part of life, and time makes it easier to cope, but it will always hurt. Today I Will be thinking of you lovingly. I will remember all the good times. I will remember all the moments we shared. I will always keep you alive and when I feel lost… I will remember what I am living for.

Hey grandpa. It’s Tia. 

I missed you today. Sometimes I wonder whether there is such a thing as an afterlife. I suppose we will never know until that fateful day when our number is called. If it happens to exist, I hope you do see what goes on down here on planet earth. If there is such a thing, I hope you watch down on our family. I hope you watch down on grandma oksun because she is not well right now. Watch down on my mother… I don’t need to tell you that though though. I hope if an afterlife exists, I hope to see you there on the other side. I love you grandpa.

Happy Father’s Day Grandpa. Wishing that you were still here to celebrate. It’s crazy to think 6 years has passed since you’ve been gone. That time feels so long ago. I remember the day you passed away. Being in the place you loved the most - in that living room. Surrounded by your family.  I wish I said more to you that day. I wish the person I am now, knew you back then. I wish I could hug you again. I wish we can go to the Asian market together again, or the commissary. I wish we could hangout outside on the porch again. I wish for time that I know I cannot have again. I love you grandpa.

Hi Grandpa,

Yesterday marked the 6 year anniversary of when you passed away. I've thought about you throughout the years, and think of you fondly.

Uncle John was such a jolly man! His memories will live on by those who loved him.  We were glad to meet him in his last trip home to Guam 2 years ago. He was the life of the family gathering we had...his jokes kept you laughing all night! We will miss him dearly. Lots of love Angela, Oscar, Diane, and families
