RAPHAEL, Julie Jarrel, passed away at her home in Los Gatos, California, on April 13, 2018. Julie is survived by her dear brothers, Kenneth Brier, of Needham, Massachusetts, and Lawrence Brier, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and her cherished sister-in-law, Marcia Brier, of Needham, nephew, Michael Brier, of Needham, niece, Jennifer Brier, of Brooklyn, New York, and grandnephew, Jacob Brier, of Needham. Born Joyce C. Brier, she was the daughter of Philip F. Brier and Charlotte N. Brier, both late of Needham. Until a few months ago Julie had worked for IBM and Hewlett Packard affiliates as a computer network troubleshooter, providing many years of technical help to computer users, always with a strong dose of personal care and concern. But as much as she was involved with computers, her major concerns were for matters of human spirit, spiritual healing, and mankind's place in the natural world. She carried out all of her activities with a laugh and a twinkle. A service in spiritual remembrance of Julie's life will be held at Temple Beth Shalom, 670 Highland Ave., Needham, MA 02494, at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018, to be followed by a memorial observance at the home of Marcia and Kenneth Brier in Needham. Donations may be made in her memory to The Nature Conservancy, 4245 North Fairfax Drive, Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203-1606, or to a charity of your choice.
