Khamphay Saysavath, commonly known as Phay or maybe even Paul, fifty-two, a memorable resident in San Jose, California, has moved along to another life. A life in the pretty clouds, looking down at the world watching his loved ones.
Khamphay came from Laos in 1990, a small country in Southeast Asia that held many of his stories. He was many things, he was a friend, roommate, uncle, brother, son, co-worker, a second father, the man that would help out the good people in life. You may have seen him dancing around and laughing out loud or him in a hospital bed scared & afraid, but once you’ve met him, talked to him, laughed with him, he’s someone that you’ll remember.
Phay was a bit of a “cool guy” back then, standing around in his blue long sleeve & his sunglasses walking around with his friends taking pictures. He was a simple man doing his best to live life and help others. He did a lot of things on his own, kept many things to himself, but he was always able to talk. Sometimes he’ll say the same things without realizing and keep on saying it again, but you just let him continue talking. You would be doing certain things like figuring out how to open a jar that won’t come unstuck, but you’ll imagine him just laughing, you’ll imagine him saying “Give me it, it’s easy.”. You may even remember his mole trick that took you years to figure out if you haven’t figured it out.
He will forever be missed by many people leaving behind many memories that people will be passing along to their children. We’ll miss you, send us pretty clouds here and there. Hopefully they enjoy the new angel in the sky. Thank you.
