CA on March 26, 2021 at the age of 99 and ½ years. He went ever so peacefully taking the
hand of his beloved Father in Heaven and joyfully joined his wife, Maria Jesus Mancera in their
eternal home.
Lino and his Mamie, as he affectionately called her, were married 57 years, he is survived by
their four children, Gloria Solorio, Lupe Mancera Luna, Velia Gardea and Jose Lino Mancera, 13
grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Having traveled from Mexico to Somerton AZ to Modesto CA and finally settling in Cupertino CA
in 1963, he worked for R. Cali Bros till his retirement. Lino was humble, hard working, and a
man of integrity. He was a meer farmworker but he brought these qualities to every aspect of
his job, whether working in the orchards or in Mr. Cali’s home garden. So much so that Lino and
Ed Cali became so close as to be considered by Mr. Cali, like a brother to him. It was with great
honor that Lino took part in carrying Mr. Cali’s casket on the day of his great friend's passing.
Not an educated man but of intelligence he learned to read and write from a fellow friend and
farmworker and having done so, he became a US citizen late in life. He did this quietly and
without the need for fanfare, the same way he lived his life, ever so humbly. He lived a simple
life, he lived to serve his delicious ‘cafe’ to family and friends that stopped by. He lived simply,
but always ready to help the less fortunate, he lived his life under the guidance of his Father in
Heaven.
Services to honor Lino’s life will be held Tuesday, April 20th at Grace Chapel from 2:30 pm to
3:30 pm with burial to follow.
