Lochiel Donald Rinerson

Lochiel was born in Twin Valley, MN to Herbert and Minnie Rinerson. He graduated from Twin Valley High School in 1954 and joined the Army, where he was stationed in San Francisco, CA. Lochiel married his high school sweetheart in 1956 and they moved to San Jose in 1959. He worked as a carpenter for many years and later obtained his contractors license in 1971. He built custom homes in the bay area, including their own home in the East foothills overlooking San Jose. Lochiel was very involved in his church. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed hosting parties and gatherings.

Lochiel is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Greta, and their three children Dan (Jean) Rinerson, Robin (Jack) Grenfell, and Debbie (Paul) Freedland. Lochiel was grandfather to seven; Jodi (Joshua) Sample, Kevin (Mimi) Rinerson, Kelly (Nick) LaRash, Amy (Sam) Greenlee, Mark Grenfell, Sam Freedland, Sarah Freedland, and great-grandfather to eight; Ryan/Calli Rinerson, Jacob/Abigail Sample, Beckett/Augustine Greenlee, Logan/Amelia LaRash.

He is preceded in death by his parents and four older sisters, Betty Paulson, Heloise Evenson, LaVonne Olsgaard, and Donna Olson.

Celebration of Life will be held in San Jose on:

Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at 11:00 am.
