December 20, 1957 – July 3, 2020
A beloved daughter, sister, auntie, cousin, niece, godmother, friend, sister-in-law and wife, LORNA MARIANO OLEGARIO passed away on July 3, 2020.
Lorna was born in Quezon City, Philippines on December 20, 1957. She spent most of her younger years in the province of Tarlac (Philippines). Because of this, she became fluent in Ilocano. When she was young, she dreamt of becoming a nurse and this became a reality when she finished her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Manila (Philippines) in 1978. She landed her first job in a military hospital in Fort Bonifacio (Makati, Philippines) then off to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 1990 to continue her quest for adventure and better opportunity. One of the hospitals she worked in was also a military hospital in Al Ain (Abu Dhabi, UAE). She learned Arabic through the hospital’s workshops to be able to communicate with the ‘Locals’. She became good at it. It was certainly fulfilling for Lorna to learn different languages and cultures firsthand. After being in the Middle East for five years, she then immigrated to the United States and continued her career as a Registered Nurse in Santa Clara County. This time, she dedicated her work in helping the elderly. Her last job was at the Mountain View Healthcare Center, a nursing home and rehabilitation facility.
Married in July of 1995, Lorna is survived by her husband of 25 years, Napoleon Olegario; her mother, Naty Mariano; and her siblings - Remy, Jane, Stevo, Noel and Brenda.
Lorna was the most warm-hearted, considerate, trustworthy, religious, and the kindest person. She will be deeply missed.
